SPS New England has successfully completed the replacement of bridges carrying Route 2 East and Westbound over I-95 in Lexington, also called the Concord Turnpike. Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) techniques were used to minimize disruption and reduce construction duration, including the first-time use in Massachusetts of precast, modular concrete abutments instead of a deep foundation system using numerous drilled shafts. SPS Earns 2017 ACEC Silver Award for Historic Chatham Drawbridge Restoration

SPS Selected to Replace the I-495 Bridges over Merrimack River in Haverhill, MA
SPS New England, Inc. has been selected by MassDOT to complete the Design Build contract to replace the existing bridges carrying I-495 traffic northbound and southbound over the Merrimack River in Haverhill, MA. SPS Completes Successful Rapid Bridge Replacement of Mass Ave over Comm Ave
SPS successfully replaced the Mass Ave Bridge over Commonwealth Ave in Boston’s Back Bay using Rapid Bridge Replacement techniques, 30 hours ahead of schedule. SPS Marine Facility and Crane Services
SPS Marine Facility and crane services were used to load Boston Harbor Cruises M/V Commander (240 FT OSV) with 395,000 pounds of equipment and supplies for an offshore project. Convenient access, ample yard space, crane service and the modern bulkhead space make the SPS Marine Facility a great choice to facilitate offshore mobilizations.

New Traffic Configuration; Demo Underway on Haverhill Bridge
A project milestone has been reached on the I-495 Haverhill Bridge Replacement Project with the recent completion of phase 1. Northbound traffic is now traveling on the newly completed half of the northbound bridge; demolition of the existing northbound structure is underway.
I-495 Haverhill: Southbound Steel Beams Complete
Press Release, June 26, 2021: Contractor SPS New England has completed placing steel beams across the Merrimack River in Haverhill that is expected to carry southbound Interstate 495 traffic by this fall.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation confirms the milestone crossing and plans daytime lane closings this week for work related to the $102 million twin bridge replacement project.
